How rankings and consensus are counted
Method §2.1, §4.5. Version 1.0, .
Complete-quarter 13F holdings and changes across all filers, with manager groups stated separately.
Worked examples describe the reference filings used to check this method. Counts are tied to the dated reference data and may differ from current site coverage. Example pages become available as their filings are imported.
The rule
The universe is all filers with a resolved 13F report for the chosen quarter. It includes banks, advisers, pension managers and hedge funds. There is no claim that every filer is a hedge fund. Only quarters held in full appear, and the latest available complete quarter is free.
Stock lists cover securities with a ticker and share positions. Puts, calls and principal amounts stay out of every holder and change count. Securities without a ticker stay on their individual lookup pages. Duplicate tickers keep separate security rows.
- Most held sorts by managers, counting every group once per security inside the membership's valid quarters. Filers states the distinct reporting CIK count from stock_quarter.
- Consensus buys counts new positions plus added positions. Consensus sells counts reduced positions plus exits. New positions counts only new positions. Each change is counted once per filer and security. These counts keep separate members of a group because the source records changes per filer.
- Changes compare resolved quarterly share amounts. A new position has no comparable preceding holding, an added position has more shares, a reduced position has fewer, and an exit has no remaining position. An incomplete preceding filer report, a notice or NEW HOLDINGS alone has no inferred change. No trade date or purchase price is inferred.
- Largest sorts filers by the sum of resolved reported 13F values, including options and principal amounts. Values missing, overflowed or flagged about 1,000 times high or low (4, 64, 128 or 512) stay out of that sum. A filer with no usable value stays out of this list. The result is reported 13F holdings value, not total assets under management.
- Most followed counts current Disclosery follows on each filer once per account. The quarter selects filers with a report. It does not reconstruct a past follow count, count follows on groups or add stock follows.
Every list orders equal scores by CIK for filers or security ID for stocks. The computation time appears on the page. Amendments are resolved before these counts, so a later restatement can change a past quarter.
How often
In the reference calculation checked on 2026-10-05, Apple has 6,112 reporting filers and 6,029 managers. Its share positions include 103 new, 2,579 added, 2,943 reduced and 102 exited. Its consensus buy score is 2,682, its sell score is 3,045, and its new position score is 103. These figures describe the 2026 Q2 reference data used to check the method. They are not a statement of current site coverage.
Worked example
Pale Fire Capital SE's 2026 Q2 13F-HR, 0000921895-26-002114, is a reporting filer in this universe. Its affiliate filed a 13F-NT notice naming Pale Fire SE. The notice adds no holding to the stock counts. A manager group that reports the same stock through several holding filers counts once in Managers and once for each reporting CIK in Filers. Apple's 83-filer difference shows the effect across all its groups.
These lists measure disclosed positions. Short positions and assets outside Form 13F are absent. Group membership reduces the manager count, but overlapping reports can still duplicate shares in the reported value and share sums. See the group method and the amendment method.
