About Ray Dalio
Dalio founded Bridgewater in 1975 from a two-bedroom New York apartment after earning an MBA at Harvard Business School in 1973. Its early work included commodities and futures consulting, followed by direct institutional management; the World Bank supplied its first institutional account in 1985. He helped develop the firm’s macroeconomic research, computerized investment principles and All Weather approach to portfolio construction.
