About Peter Lynch

Lynch joined Fidelity in 1969, became director of research from 1974 to 1977 and managed its Magellan Fund from 1977 until retiring from that role in 1990. Fidelity’s fund history confirms that management period. An American Academy biography also records his work as an investment author: One Up on Wall Street, Beating the Street and Learn to Earn were written with John Rothchild. The Lynch Foundation’s activities include education, cultural preservation and medical research. His fund-management history and books explain why readers recognize his name, while the dated Magellan role remains distinct from Fidelity’s broader reporting organization.
