About Mohnish Pabrai

Pabrai is managing partner of Pabrai Investment Funds. Before making investing his full-time work in September 2000, he built TransTech, an IT consulting company founded from his home in 1990 and sold in 2000. His earlier career included research and development and international assignments at Tellabs, following a computer-engineering degree from Clemson. The funds’ biography describes his interest in focused value investing and Warren Buffett’s approach to compounding. He began applying that model to his own portfolio in 1995 and started the funds in 1999, linking an entrepreneurial background with his later investment career.
